Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East to enhance Tseung Kwan O
HONG KONG Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East opens late September in the emerging district of Tseung Kwan O, with a range of meeting facilities rivaling those of any downtown hotel.
The 359-room property and its sibling Holiday Inn Express, launching in October, aim to leverage on the presence of nearby entities such as the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate, Tseung Kwan O Hospital and University of Science and Technology for future business. Also a short car ride away are the commercial buildings in Kwun Tong and Kowloon Bay, including Millenim City, One & Two Landmark East, Manulife Tower and the Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Centre as well as those in Taikoo Place.
Accessibility is not thought to be an issue with the two hotels sitting atop an MTR station and the Popcorn mall which provides many retail and dining diversions.
This Crowne Plaza’s arsenal of events spaces ranges from the expected grand ballroom (capacity: 2,000 for standing reception or 1,200 for a sit-down banquet in a pillarless setting) and various function rooms (11 in total) to a refreshing garden patio ideal for alfresco cocktails or a team building session, (complete with its own dedicated lift to the ballroom) and Cielo, a restaurant-bar on the 47th floor with indoor and outdoor seating and panoramic views.
To mark the hotel's debut, a meeting package is available until December 31, priced from HK$600 (US$77) for full day's activities or HK$450 (US$58) half day, along with lunch and free flow of coffee and tea throughout. Participants can consist of 10 to 1,000 people,
